A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants, although most contests have evolved to also incorporate personality traits, intelligence, talent, and answers to judges' questions as judged criteria.
Miss Cagayan de Oro has been crowning the most beautiful queen of the city every year since 1950's when CDO became a city. The pageant has been held as one of the major highlight event during the city fiesta - Higalaay Festival in the month of August.
This year, the city will once again search for the next Beauty Queen of the city to be the Ambassador of goodwill and here are the official candidates of the Miss Cagayan de Oro 2019:
