Magbuwag Ta Kay... Premier Night in CDO Tonight! Now Showing in SM Cinemas Nationwide

Magbuwag Ta Kay is a full-lenth romantic comedy movie set in Cebu, that explores romance and relationships in today's millenial Filipino society. It stars social media star Medyo Maldito and the Sweet n' Sexy Siren of Cebu Akiko SOlon. This is independently produced by Heritage Productions, Inc.

This Cebuano movie is the Executive Producers’ third project. They produced the Sinulog Short Film 2015 entry Lunch Box (dir. Remton Zuasola) which was also an anti-bullying short film. They co-produced the Cinema One Original 2016 Lily (dir. Keith Deligero) which starred Shaina Magdayao and Rocky Salumbides with Natileigh Sitoy. This film earned Best Director for the Cinema One Originals Digital Film Festival for Keith Deligero.

Executive Producer Sunshine Lim is an entrepreneur, a thespian, an educator, culture activist, and patron for Cebuano arts and culture. Movie production converges her passionate support for Cebu’s performance art, visual art and music. She and her husband businessman Charles Lim also owns and operates Heritage Marabiles Furniture (Since 1991), Sto. Niño Montessori (since 2007), Goldmine Residences (since 2012), and Heritage Productions (since 2015).

Heritage Productions is an arts and multimedia venture dedicated to produce Cebuano short and full-length motion picture projects. They also offer top-quality digital media production, event production and management, social media marketing and related services.

The director Reuben Joseph Aquino is a Cenuano multimedia and VFX professional now based in Manila/NCR. An alumof the International Academy of Film & TV, RJ solidified his career locally through DreamLine Productions, through which he was involved in post-production of several Cebuano movie projects, most notably My Paranormal Romance by Victor Villanueva, where RJ won Best Editing in the 2011 Cinema One Originals Digital Film Fest. This is his directorial debut, of which he is also the Editor.

Magbuwag Ta Kay also features Visayan talent in front of the camera, such as local social media sensations Medyo Maldito and Snake Princess in their first movie roles. Medyo Maldito (aka Rowell Ucat) in his first leading man role, with his leading lady Akiko Solon, who rose to national attention via ABS-CBN’s Star Power (2010), then starred in several Maalaala Mo Kaya episodes and several ABS-CBN TV series such as the Princess and I 92012), Pasion de Amor (2015), and Bridges of Love (2015). This is also Akiko’s first film as a main lead. Other notable cast members are veteran broadcaster Dante Luzon, and actress/activist Ligaya Rabago.

The screenplay is written by Jude Gitamondoc and Therese Villarante. This is their first film feature. The writers have extensive experience in the local theater scene. Jude Gitamondoc is well-known for the creative production of Siddharta the Musical, and Gugmang Giatay.

The film’s soundtrack features original and contemporary Visayan Pop and Visayan Rock songs, majority of which was written for the film. Shot in Cebu, featuring locations in Cebu City, Lapu-lapu, Moalboal and Dumanjug. Magbuwag Ta Kay could be considered as the first Cebuano full-length motion picture shot with Blackmagic Ursa Mini 4K Digital Cinema camera.
