Formerly the Mayor of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental from 1980 to 1983, became Governor of the province of Misamis Oriental from 1986 to 1995.

He will be running for Vice Mayor this coming May 2019 Midterm Election, but sadly just this morning he passed away due to pneumonia at around 12:28 AM, confirmed by his son, Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vincente “Bambi” Emano in an interview over radio today.

Vicente Emano's remains will be cremated today and his urn will be brought at their residence in Barangay Gusa to stay there for 3 days and then be buried in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, the hometown of the Emano Family.

Just few days ago, there were some rumors that Vicente Emano was already bedridden because he wasn't present in some political campaigns of his political party. But Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member Prexy Elipe answered the rumors that this was the old style of Dongkoy Emano of not joining the political rallies and campaigns.

“He's doing okay, I am happy to divulged nga he is in good shape, in fact kanang ilang giingon nga gasige panigarilyo, he’s lungs are clear, nagstop naman siya dugay na ug gwapo kaayo ang resulta sa iyang lungs, So I don’t know why gakataranta ang mga kaatbang,” according to Elipe in an interview. He also added “Natural mana ang health check-ups kinahanglan tan-awon. The more you aged in this world the more nga magpa check-up ka pirme para mahibaloan kon naa bay problema sa imong panglawas.” - source
