COMELEC Resumes Voter Registration Today, September 1, 2020

Voter registration resumes Sept. 1, COMELEC issues reminders

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) issued an advisory on Monday, Aug. 31, on the procedures when voter registration resumes on Sept. 1


COMELEC spokesperson Dir. James Jimenez said the filing of applications will now be from Tuesdays to Saturdays, including holidays, from 8a.m. to 3p.m., at the Office of the Election Officer (OEO) as stated in an advisory dated August 31.


COMELEC will impose a “No face Mask and Face Shield, No Registration ‘policy. Imposing a modified procedure and protocols in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic.


Those who will register are encouraged to download the application form from the COMELEC website (www.comelec.gov.ph) and fill it out.


However, registrants will be required to affix their signatures on the form before the Election Officer at the Comelec office.


The COMELEC also advised those who will register to bring their own pens as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19.


Registrants are also advised to strictly observe all other health and safety protocols, such as physical distancing, checking of body temperature, sanitizing of hands, and footwear, among others as they will be strictly imposed.


Voter registration will be from September 1 until October 2021, or six months before the national elections.
